Texas A&M Engineering is committed to making information and resources accessible to everyone.
Secondary and primary accounts must always follow the following rules:
In adherence to Texas Education Code 51.5325, all personnel granted access to social media platforms managed by Engineering Communications undergo training to ensure alignment with established policies. Moreover, a centralized scheduling system is employed to enhance monitoring capabilities. Regular quarterly audits are conducted by the social media team lead to verify the compliance of content across all channels with the aforementioned code.
When a situation arises in which something is posted that does not align with the Texas A&M Engineering, Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station, Texas A&M University or Texas A&M System guidelines, follow the steps below. Examples include racial, derogatory or offensive comments and posts of any kind on primary or secondary accounts. Do not remove/delete any content before consulting with social media lead.
Other Resources
Social media sites may contain communications sent to, or received by, state employees, and such communications are therefore public records subject to State Records Retention requirements. These retention requirements apply regardless of the form of the record (digital text, photos, audio or video).
To the extent that the third-party records retention policies are inconsistent with the Texas State Record Retention schedule, Texas A&M Engineering Communications will put forth reasonable efforts to archive copies of all social media content, including content that was removed, in order to meet state records retention obligations.
